MATERIALS
Epoxy is a type of liquid resin known for its good adhesive properties and resistance to water degration.
That is why they are used for laminating solar cells and is also used in boat building too. They are usually
identified by their amber or slight brown colour. They also have high electrical insulation and good chemical
resistance. However, in the long run, they can age prematurely under the Sun, turning yellowish and
become more brittle.
How to choose the correct voltage for your products:
Basic principle:
(1)The solar panel voltage is best to be 1.5times higher than the storage battery, in order to fully
charge the battery, such as: 3.7V Lithium Battery ===== 3.7*1.5=5.55V. =====> The optium voltage
for solar panel charging this lithium battery is 5.5V, you can choose 6V. Voltage lower than 5V is not
a good idea for fast charging;
12V Lead acid battery ==== 12V*1.5=18V ====> The optium voltage for solar panel is 18V, 17.5V is
also OK. But voltage lower than 17V will not be a good idea for fast charging.
(2) The voltage of solar panel is not the higher, the better, because during our R&D, we must
consider the charging current, and the battery protection. If the charging voltage is too high, the
battery might be damaged. And when the voltage is too high, the charging current would be weak,
and the charging speed would become too slow.
3.7V Lithium Battery ===== The solar panel voltage better not be higher than 6V.
12V Lead acid battery ===== The solar panel voltage better not be higher than 18V, because of the
above two reasons.
